Circus Capsules

Mime Theatre

Did you know? Mime is a type of acting that exaggerates physical movement and expressions that do not use words or speech. It has its origins in the theatres of ancient Rome and Greece. Some people believe that primitive humans used mime as they could not talk.

The following capsule, designed for middle-primary pupils, explores different situations often acted out by mimes. Then, it motivates children to create their own performance, which they are encouraged to record and edit, adding music and sound effects with a simple video editor: Canva. In short, it is about getting to know the possibilities of our body as a means of communication and video editing.
